Troubleshooting

This section discusses the possible issues and the steps you can take to troubleshoot ER2 ODBC Driver issues.

Error / Symptom Troubleshooting Steps
General symptoms:
  • Unable to connect to the ER2 Master Server instance via ODBC
  • Error messages received when connecting or performing authentication
Make sure that the following requirements are met:
  • Using an Enterprise Recon PRO license on a Master Server version of 2.2 and above.
  • TCP connections to port 11117 is not blocked by a firewall.
  • The ODBC service is running on the Master Server. In the Web Console, go to System > Server Information. Go to the System Services section and verify that the ODBC service is running.
  • Enterprise Recon data source (Enterprise Recon 64 System / Enterprise Recon 32 System) is not listed or available in client application
  • ODBC: ERROR [IM014] The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between the Driver (64-bit) and Application (32-bit)
Make sure that the installed ODBC Driver matches the client application platform.

ODBC: ERROR [08001] Cannot authenticate: ODBC access requires global detail reporting permission Make sure that the ER2 user account that is used for the ODBC login credentials has the following permissions:
  • Global Permissions - Global Admin, or
  • Resource Permissions - Detailed Reporting for all Targets and Groups.

  • ODBC: ERROR [08001] Remote server must be specified
  • [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed
The Master Server host name or IP address must be specified with the srv attribute in the connection string.

ODBC: ERROR [37000] Requires PRO edition license ER2 ODBC Reporting is only available in Enterprise Recon PRO. To find out more about upgrading your ER2 license, please contact Ground Labs Licensing.
